Updating a previous report, New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes (quadriceps) is in the lineup for the opening game of a series in Cincinnati against the Reds on Monday. Cespedes, of course, injured his quad during Sunday’s loss to the Colorado Rockies, leaving his status moving forward in question. However, he was out stretching on the field Monday afternoon and the Mets are deeming him good to go. Although he’s playing on Monday, we wouldn’t get your hopes up too high that he's out of the woods just yet. We’ve seen a few times previously where Cespedes injured his quad only to play shortly thereafter and aggravated the injury. So while it’s great news he’s playing Monday, let’s see where he’s at in a few days before writing this injury off completely.--John Smith
