New York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (elbow) received some great news: Thursday’s MRI did not reveal any ligament damage. deGrom is still expected to miss roughly four starts with a hyperextended right elbow, but this is probably the best news anyone could have hoped for given the injury. deGrom left Wednesday's start against the Atlanta Braves after the fourth inning after first reporting pain in the third inning while swinging a bat. Assuming that timeline holds up, this would slot deGrom back into the Mets rotation at some point in early June. Hold tight for a few weeks, fantasy owners, as you likely won’t have to be without your ace for that long, but you will need a replacement for just a few starts.--John Smith
