Toronto Blue Jays infielder Yangervis Solarte has been the primary replacement for the injured Josh Donaldson at third base. With Donaldson’s return looming possibly this weekend, however, Toronto is going to have to find ways to keep Solarte in the lineup, as he has been quite the productive player thus far. In a 7-5 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Monday, Solarte finished 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI. This night followed a 2-for-4 effort against the Texas Rangers on Sunday when he hit his seventh home run of the season. For the year, Solarte is slashing a productive .250/.348/.500 with seven home runs, 17 runs scored and 15 RBI across 26 at-bats. We’re not quite sure what his playing time situation will look like upon Donaldson’s return, but it’s clear Solarte’s bat is one you should be taking advantage of until that point.--John Smith
