Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Nick Kingham was masterful in his big-league debut, throwing seven innings of one-hit baseball in a win over the St. Louis Cardinals. The right-hander didn't walk a batter and struck out nine, carrying a perfect game into the seventh inning before a Paul DeJong single ended a chance at history. Still, the start was historical in some facets, as Kingham was the first pitcher to retire the first 20 batters of the game in his first MLB game. The team hasn't announced whether he'll make another start yet, but he has a strong chance to replace the struggling Steven Brault in the rotation.--Matt WilkesRead More News
