FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (4/24/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Justin Bales highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 4/24/18, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

We have two slates today, but the later slate is pack filled with 11 games. The earlier is big enough to play, but that is not what we will be focusing on in this article. The later, or featured, slate will be the main focus today.

Since there are 11 games, there are plenty of different ways to go about lineup construction. There is a game in Coors, and paying up for those bats is never a terrible idea, particularly in cash games. There are also a few high end pitchers throwing tonight, though, meaning you could utilize a more expensive pitch and take cheap bats with upside.

You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me on Twitter @BalesSJustin.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Luke Weaver - P, vs NYM ($8,500)

Weaver has had his ups and downs this season, featuring a 2-1 record, 4.22 ERA, and 1.29 WHIP through four starts. He also possesses an 8.4 K/9 and gets a matchup against the New York Mets, who strikeout at the second highest rate of teams on this slate. This will only be Weaver's second home game of the season, and he looked outstanding in his first. He's currently a -165 favorite in a game set at only 8 runs, making him one of the top pitchers on the slate.

Eric Lauer - P, at COL ($5,500)

Lauer will be making his MLB debut in a tough matchup tonight. Colorado has underperformed at home this season, though, and Lauer comes with an extremely low price tag. Since 2016, Lauer has recorded a 9-10 record, 3.04 ERA, and 1.18 WHIP in the minors. More importantly, he has posted a 9.9 K/9 over that same span. Colorado has the highest strikeout rate on the season, and Lauer does not need many fantasy points to hit value. He should not be used in cash games, but he's a leverage GPP option tonight.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Brad Miller - C/1B, at BAL ($2,500)

Miller has really struggled this season, but he has been a better hitter against right-handed pitching. Tonight, he gets a good matchup against Alex Cobb in a hitter friendly stadium. Miller is also expected to hit fourth in the Rays lineup, giving him extra RBI and run potential. Even though he has struggled quite a bit, he has been a consistent option. He somewhat lacks upside, though, making him better suited as a salary relief option in cash games.

Jed Lowrie - 2B, at TEX ($3,800)

Lowrie has been playing at an elite level this season, hitting .351 with 12 extra-base hits (six home runs) and 23 RBIs. He has also scored between 9.5 and 38.4 fantasy points in nine of his last 11 games. He is a better hitter against right-handed pitching, which is a concern, as he will face Cole Hamels tonight. With that being said, he has been playing too well to ignore on this slate.

Mike Moustakas - 3B, vs MIL ($4,000)

Moustakas is another player that has been playing at an elite level this season. Through 20 games, he's hitting .318 with 12 extra-base hits (six home runs) and 17 RBIs. He gets a good matchup against Zach Davies, and he is hitting .362 with 83.3% of his home runs coming against right-handed pitching. Moustakas is not going to come cheap, but he can safely be used in all leagues tonight.

Freddy Galvis - SS, at COL ($3,300)

Galvis has been on a cold streak recently, but that has kept his price tag low. He gets a solid matchup against Kyle Freeland tonight, and Galvis is relatively cheap for someone playing in Coors. He has flashed upside throughout the season, but he is not a player to truly consider in cash games. Simply put, he's a cheaper way to get action in what could be the highest scoring game on the slate.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

J.D. Martinez - OF, at TOR ($4,200)

Martinez has quietly been playing well this season, hitting .307 with 10 extra-base hits (four home runs) and 15 RBIs. He has posted elite numbers against left-handed pitching, recording 0.161 wOBA and 0.165 ISO differentials against lefties. He also hit over .375 against lefties in 2017. He gets a decent matchup against J.A. Happ, and Martinez is an option that is always in play when he is facing off against a left-handed pitcher.

Chad Pinder - OF, at TEX ($2,100)

Pinder is not an elite option, but he's fairly safe with some upside. He also comes with an extremely low price tag. He has been a more consistent hitter against left-handed pitching, and he gets a decent matchup against Cole Hamels tonight. Pinder will also benefit from playing in a hitter friendly stadium in Texas. He's the type of salary relief option that can be leaned on to fit in the more expensive players on this slate.
