Fantasy College Football CFB Rankings: NCAA Top 10 (11/27/17)

We believe it was Churchill who once said, "Anything can happen in the Iron Bowl."

Okay, it wasn't Churchill. He probably never heard of the Iron Bowl.

Still, the old axiom is certainly true, and it is one that we here at Rotoballer College Football HQ nevertheless forgot. Again.

With that in mind, here's our Top 10 as of November 27, 2017 (with won-loss records in parentheses).

NCAA College Football (CFB) Rankings

1. Wisconsin, (12-0)

The Badgers are 12-0 for the first time in program history. Are they the best team in the country? Probably not. But they navigated the Big Ten schedule undefeated, and while they aren't the most fun team to watch, "they just win, baby." Churchill didn't say that either.

2. Oklahoma, (11-1)

QB Baker Mayfield didn't start on Saturday as punishment for his sideline antics against Kansas. However, the Sooners hardly seemed to notice in their rout of West Virginia. RB Rodney Anderson finished with 13 carries for 118 yards and 4 TDs. In the end, Mayfield only missed two snaps.

3. Clemson, (11-1)

Things suddenly set up for Dabo Swinney's team to repeat--should they win as expected in the ACC Championship Game. In-state rival South Carolina on the road was supposed to be a challenge... Not so much. QB Kelly Bryant isn't Deshaun Watson, but so what? He still completed 23 of 34 passes for 272 yards and 2 TDs.

4. Alabama, (11-1)

We're not buying the idea that 'Bama falls out of the top four because they lost the Iron Bowl to Auburn, and thus will not play for the SEC Championship this weekend. There is precedent here (Ohio State), but we're not the BCS Selection Committee. The Tide didn't do themselves any favors against the Tigers, with some incredibly sloppy play for a Nick Saban-coached team. Has the magic run out?

5. Auburn, (10-2)

How can the Tigers be ranked behind the team they just beat? Easy. We're not the BCS Selection Committee. We still see the Crimson Tide as the better of the two teams--though that may change if Gus Malzahn's team can beat Georgia again in the SEC title game.

6. Georgia, (11-1)

Georgia Tech was supposed to be a tough test for the Bulldogs. Again, not so much. RB Sony Michel had 13 carries for 85 yards and a TD against the Rambling Wreck. But the Bulldogs may not make the top four--even if they beat Auburn.

7. TCU, (10-2)

The Horned Frogs went to a fight against Baylor and a football game broke out. Will they face any suspensions for the ill-fated Big 12 Championship Game? TCU can play spoilers in Arlington, and derail Oklahoma's (and the Big 12's) hopes of breaking into the BCS Playoffs. In the meantime, the Bears made Kenny Hill (26-36, 325 yards, 3 TDs) look like a QB.

8. Miami, (10-1)

Oh, the poor U. The Hurricanes became the latest ACC team to have its postseason resume tarnished by a loss to Pitt. Now, they can change things if they beat Clemson in the ACC Championship Game, but if QB Malik Rosier doesn't play better (he was just 15 of 34 against the Panthers), they can forget about it.

9. USC, (10-2)

The Trojans scheduled a bye week for the last weekend of the season and thus head into the Pac-12 Championship Game this Friday rested--or rusty. They'll need to win big over Stanford to impress the selection committee, and we just don't see that happening.

10. Penn State, (10-2)

Penn State won't be playing in the Big Ten title game, but we still see them as at least the second-best team in the conference, despite their head-to-head loss at Ohio State. QB Trace McSorley (22-33, 237 yards, 2 TDs) likely won't play in the NFL--but a CFL team could certainly use his moxie.
