EXPERT ANALYSIS: James Paxton looked great on Monday as he allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits (including a home run) and a walk while striking out 10 Cleveland Indians. This was a welcome sight for Paxton and his owners in the fake game after he got shelled by the Padres in San Diego on June 1st. While James has never pitched in more than 74 innings in any single season at the Major League level, he does possess a 3.25 ERA, 3.77 FIP and 3.76 xFIP to go along with a 7.63 K/9 across 168 and 2/3 MLB innings.
In his next matchup, Paxton and the Mariners will face the Rangers at Safeco Field on Saturday June 11th. While it is a tough opponent, they will face off in a pitcher friendly stadium. If you're in a 14+ team league and you need some help in your fantasy team's rotation, you should consider adding Paxton now because whenever he's been healthy he's been fairly useful.
