CBB DFS Lineup Picks (03/18/16): March Madness Daily Fantasy Advice for FanDuel

John Apricena offers his daily fantasy college basketball sleepers for March Madness on 03/18/16. His NCAA Tournament lineup picks and sleepers will help you win CBB DFS on Fanduel.

Anddddd, we're off! This time of year is the best time if your a CBB fan, and Thursday action is still going on at the time of this writing. There have already been a few upsets, and I'm sure many more. Hopes and dreams of a perfect bracket have ended for many, but fear not because DFS is here to save the day. There are very large GPPs being offered up by Fanduel and that will be the basis of this article.

Smaller than average slates in DFS have their pros and cons, but the lineup construction process still remains the same. You lock in your studs that you like along with your value guys, and build from there. Sometimes people get carried away with the thought that they need to have as many studs as possible on small slates for safe production, but then the rest of their lineup suffers from this. Regardless of slate size, you should never go against your DFS principles and today's small slate is no different.

So without further delay, below are our favorite Daily Fantasy College Basketball picks for FanDuel DFS games on February, 28th 2016.

CBB DFS Guards to Target on FanDuel

Top Play: Buddy Hield, Oklahoma ($9,100)

Even if your only a slight fan of college basketball, you have heard of Buddy Hield. Hield is a star at the collegiate level and has one of the best jump shots in the land. In this game, his price has dropped about one thousand from his recent dud.  This wasn't just a dud though as it was the only time all season Hield went under double digits only scoring 6 points. The bounce back alone here with his price is enough to warrant playing in almost any match-up, but add in the weak opponent, and this could be one of Hield's better performances of the year. Vegas sees this game staying within 15 points, so don't get too concerned of a crushing blowout. Hield will be able to do whatever he wants in this game, and his price is just too cheap.

Mid Tier: Alex Caruso, Texas A&M ($6,500)

Out of all the games to target on this slate, the GBP/TEXA&M game is the best one. GBP plays at the fastest tempo in the country and Texas A&M certainly doesn't mind running. These type of games are where you want the person steering the ship and for A&M it's Caruso. He had a few bad games a while back, but excluding a dud vs. LSU, he has been very consistent recently. He has the opportunity in this match-up to just pile on assists and easy baskets at the rim. Caruso is also an underrated defender and can get steals at a high rate compared to league average. The tempo of this game leaves everyone in play, and this includes Jones, House, and Davis at the forward position. You will want exposure to A&M here, and Caruso is my favorite for the price and that he is the only guard of the four on Fanduel.

Value: Steve Vasturia, Notre Dame ($4,900)

I'm just going to get right to the point here. Vasturia is no where near a 4900 player. Notre Dame got destroyed in their last game in the ACC tournament and the pricing has declined for almost everyone on this team. Michigan does not pose any threats defensively and can really be exposed inside. Auguste is priced accurately, but Colson is cheap as well. Any Notre Dame player on Fanduel is in play, but Vasturia is the cheapest and is almost a lock for 39-40 minutes of court time. Playing Vasturia not only offers strong value, but the ability to pay up at other positions as well.

CBB DFS Forwards to Target on FanDuel

Top Play: Gary Clark, Cincinnati ($8,800)

I think people are going to look at this Cincinnati game, and look at St. Joe's big men to target as they are quite impressive. The issue I have with this is Cincinnati has one of the better front courts in the nation and I expect St Joe's big studs to struggle a bit. On the other side, Clark is such a safe play. His price has recently declined a bit on Fanduel, and this projected tempo plays to Clark's strengths. Clark can poke holes all over a box score providing great peripherals in most categories. His scoring is inconsistent, but his overall box scores are not. He is very involved in this offense and this time of year, I expect him to play all the court time he can handle barring foul trouble.

Mid Tier: Jaylen Brown, California ($7,400)

California just lost Tyrone Wallace for the season due to injury, and this is a real tough blow for the Bears. Sam Singer will in fact be his replacement and he is a formidable play at minimum price, but Brown will see the highest usage spike.  This price is so cheap for his potential stat line for this game. Hawaii is certainly no pushover, but Brown will prove to be too much for them to handle. Expect a solid showing brown Brown all around, as he has good peripherals for someone who is forward eligible, and these are the guys you want to target. He will be a lottery pick when he go into the NBA Draft, and expect to see his wide range of skills in this game.

Mid Tier: Trevon Bluiett, Xavier ($7,300)

I'm going to throw in a bonus mid-tier here because this price is silly low. The spread on this game is 13, but not enough to think that Xavier's best player can't show up for them. Bluiett has been priced much higher than this at time this year, but an average game his last time out has lowered his price again. There is little reason to think anyone on WSW will be able to stop Bluiett from scoring, but hitting value for him is reliant on his shots falling, but I'm not concerned in this match-up. Enjoy this price for Bluiett while it lasts.

Value: V.J. Beachem, Notre Dame ($5,300)

Two Notre Dame players deserve a mention here because the prices are just way too affordable. Beachem will certainly have opportunities to hit threes throughout this game, as I expect Michigan to attempt to double Auguste in the post. Beachem can also provide decent rebound numbers as well, and as mentioned before Notre Dame is in prime position to put up strong fantasy numbers in this game. Beachem typically plays most of the game and do not let the previous Notre Dame game scare you off some of their players. The price is just too cheap here to completely fade and you'll enjoy the salary relief to play other studs.
