FanDuel CBB DFS Lineup Picks (02/28/16): Daily Fantasy College Basketball Advice

John Apricena offers his FanDuel daily fantasy college basketball sleepers for 2/28/16. His CBB DFS lineup picks and NCAA sleepers will help you win on FanDuel.

Welcome to my first article for RotoBaller discussing CBB and FanDuel DFS. My name is John Apricena, and I go by uncl3dunkl3 on all DFS sites. I'll be writing a few daily fantasy college basketball articles a week for you guys, and I hope you find all of this info informative.

This is the first time that I can remember this season, when FanDuel has offered a decent sized early and late slate for CBB on a Sunday. This article will be focused on the early slate, and there are quite a few good games to target players. The 8-10 game range is typically my favorite as, it offers just enough options to be successful, but not too many options where you can be overwhelmed. This slate has eight games with plenty of options to choose from.

So without further delay, below are our favorite Daily Fantasy College Basketball picks for FanDuel DFS games on February, 28th 2016.

CBB DFS Guards to Target on FanDuel

Top Play: Daniel Hamilton ($8,400)

For this slate, the top 3 high priced guards are Whitehead, Watson, and Hamilton. Of the three Hamilton is not only the cheapest, I feel he offers the safest shot at reaching value. Whitehead's has been playing his best ball of the season, but his price is a bit outrageous here against Xavier. Watson's price is also bit high, and Creighton is expected to win big. When they do so Watson typically doesn't put up monster stat lines, as he tends to take a backseat to others. Hamilton, however is expected to be in a somewhat competitive game, against Houston who has certainly had their fair share of defensive friendly games. Hamilton is the catalyst for Connecticut, and I feel this is a good spot for him to go back to his usual production after two very low scoring road showings.

Mid Tier: JaQuan Lyle ($6,200)

CBB is not all about selecting players with glorious match-ups. Sometimes, you have to find value in the right spots, regardless of the match-up projections. Lyle is in a great spot at home vs. Iowa, as he has seen big minutes in his last two and Tate being out certainly increases his usage. When he's seen high minutes this year, Lyle has been productive and not just from scoring. He provides great peripherals when on the court, and will enjoy a very nice tempo boost here. There are tough guys to trust on this team, but I like Lyle and another Ohio state guys in this slate who I'll mention below to come through at this price tag.

Value: Isaiah Zierden ($4,700)

I mentioned above, that Watson tends to take a backseat in blowout type games, but I expect Zierden to be firing away. While he may be reliant on his shot falling for a big game, at this price he doesn't need it to be. This price is so low for a player who sees a lot of court time for an offensive productive team like Creighton. Expect Zierden to be firing away early and often from dep and even providing a few peripherals to fill out his stat sheet. For his price, his floor is too high to pass up on. Don't miss out on this value play for this slate.

CBB DFS Forwards to Target on FanDuel

Top Play: Josh Scott ($8,500)

An injury and a few average games since returning, has dropped his price back into a very playable range. Scott draws ASU, who has really taken some beatings in the paint this season, and Scott will be able to exploit them here. Scott finally had a big showing in his last game and was back to his normal minutes allotted. Scott rides a very high usage rate, especially for a big man, and expect him to be heavy involved in this game. ASU can really be pushed around inside by talented big men, and Scott is one of the best big men the PAC12 has to offer.

Mid Tier: Marc Loving ($6,100)

While it may seem like a bit much to target to OSU players on this same slate, I'll tell you that both these guys have seen the biggest impact since Tate's injury. Loving has been playing his best ball of the season, and is back to a usage rate around what his was last year. He had taken a backseat for a while to other guys on his team, but now he's back and OSU will need him to produce in this game to keep it close against Iowa. As I mentioned, the tempo boost alone favors OSU guys in this game and Loving and Tate's prices are tough to pass up. This slate doesn't offer all that many mid-priced value guys, so don't miss out.

Value: Amida Brimah ($5,400)

Connecticut should be able to handle business against Houston, and Brimah inside will certainly help this case. He is still somewhat being worked back in, but his block upside along with great rebounding percentages provide a nice floor at this price. Add in the plus match-up, and being at home; he makes for a strong value play at this low price. Last season, Brimah was constantly priced in the high 6K range, so he is still a major discount at this price. Houston also struggles inside their front court, and Brimah's length can cause any front court problems. If this game remains close (which is should), expect to see Brimah play 30+ minutes, and exceed value easily at this low price tag.
