DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel Cash Games
Corey Kluber - SP - Indians ($11,100)
This game has one of the lowest Vegas run totals for tomorrow (7), and it's got a lot to do with the Klubot. He takes on a struggling Mariners offense, and the potential for high strikeouts and run support is there. It's more much than I ever want to spend on a pitcher, but he may be the safest option. He certainly owns the highest ceiling on the board tonight.
Dallas Keuchel - SP - Astros ($9,900)
The Sox struggle mightily against left-handed pitching, and Keuchel is the perfect type of pitcher to roster against them. Keuchel has provided a high strikeout rate and low risk this season, as he's averaging nearly seven strikeouts per nine innings. He's only allowed 18 earned runs in 12 starts. He's pitching in US Cellular, which certainly favors the hitter, but Keuchel's opponents are only slugging .333 against him. The White Sox lineup - namely Adam Eaton, Melky Cabrera, Jose Abreu and Adam LaRoche - really struggle to do anything productive against southpaws. He's a real solid option tonight and comes in at a reasonable price point as a road favorite.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel Tournaments
Bargain pitchers, essentially. I try to consider strikeout opportunity (their skills and how often opposing team strikes out), how vulnerable they might be to imploding, Vegas lines, and their win potential.
Chris Heston - SP - Giants ($6,700)
The Mets do their fare share of striking out, going down in 20.4% of their at-bats against right-handed pitching. Heston has been hit or miss, but he should be able to rack up a few K's and limit the Mets' weak offense from doing much.
Mike Foltynewicz - SP - Braves ($7,300)
San Diego has a similar pedigree to the Mets - a lot of strikeouts, and the opposing Padres offense has been pretty lackluster. San Diego also happens to be right-handed heavy, so Folty has the platoon advantage here.
Honorable Mentions: Nick Martinez ($6,300), Trevor May ($6,400)
Offenses to Target for FanDuel Stacking
Cardinals RHB vs. Jorge De La Rosa
This may be the most popular stack of the day, but that doesn't make it a bad one. De La Rosa has a 6.15 ERA and 1.604 WHIP in seven starts this season, and the Cardinals top of the order should be able to take advantage of him.
All things considered, Haren hasn't been as horrendous as you'd expect this season. That said, he has still allowed 11 home runs and faces off against a power-hitting Jays lineup in a very home run-friendly stadium. There are a lot of strong stack combinations that can be made out of the hitters 1-6 in their lineup.
Honorable Mention: Red Sox LHB vs. Miguel Gonzalez
DFS Catchers to Consider for FanDuel
Stephen Vogt - C - Athletics ($3,200)
Vogt has proven to consistently be one of the best catchers to roster when the Athletics are facing a right-handed pitcher. Such is the case tonight, and he owns a .569 slugging percentage against righties.
Russell Martin - C - Blue Jays ($3,200)
Martin has park factors and a pitcher who likes to serve up home runs working in his favor. Could make for one fourth of a Blue Jays' stack, too.
DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel
Anthony Rizzo -1B - Cubs ($4,500)
Pretty steep price, but he's not even the most expensive on the board. Rizzo has been getting on base at a very impressive clip, and he has the platoon advantage going for him tonight.
David Ortiz - 1B - Red Sox ($2,500)
Quite the discount when compared to my other first basemen tonight. Ortiz hasn't looked like the same old Big Papi this season, but he's got the platoon advantage going a fairly weak opposing pitcher.
Kolten Wong - 2B - Cardinals ($3,500)
Wong will be a piece in a few of my Cardinals' stacks tonight. He bats from the left side himself, but he owns a .310 batting average against left-handers this season.
Adeiny Hechavarria - SS - Marlins ($2,900)
Hechavarria is quietly having a fine season down in South Beach. He'll have the platoon advantage tonight while playing in a doubles and home run-friendly park.
DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel
Yasiel Puig - OF - Dodgers ($4,000)
Puig is back in action right when the Dodgers (and stackers) need him most. He has a .473 career slugging average against lefties.
Adam Jones - OF - Orioles ($3,400)
Jones is back healthy and swinging the bat well so far. He's got the platoon advantage and positive park factors tonight against a young lefty.
Dexter Fowler - OF - Cubs ($3,300)
When facing right-handers (dating back to 2008), Fowler has a .352 OBP and .411 slugging percentage. He should be able to take advantage of a struggling Anibal Sanchez.
