Kevin Jennings Expected to be 100% for Week 1
SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings (finger) has been limited in practice after suffering a finger injury, but the senior started throwing again on Monday. "Going well," head coach Rhett Lashlee said. "No pain, and we are working him back in this week and expect him to have a full two weeks to get ready for game one and be 100%." The Mustangs kick off the 2026 campaign on the road against Florida State on September 7. Having Jennings ready to go to start the season is a must-have for the program as they look to return to the ACC Championship Game and College Football Playoff this year. In 39 career games, the Dallas native has totaled 8,268 yards and 65 touchdowns. He's one of the best returning quarterbacks in the country and could be a Heisman dark horse if SMU lives up to its potential in his third year as a starter.
