Deion Burks 2026 Fantasy Football Outlook: Colts Found More Horsepower in Round Seven
With the fourth-to-last pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts selected Deion Burks out of Oklahoma, a selection that could be the steal of the draft. With the departure of Michael Pittman Jr. (Steelers), there are 111 vacated targets available for Colts pass catchers. Now, Indianapolis did sign Nick Westbrook-Ikhine to play alongside Josh Downs and the recently minted Alec Pierce; however, Westbrook-Ikhine's previous high for receptions was 32 back in 2024. If you are looking for potential sleepers in 2026, Burks fits that mould, considering the competition that precedes him is somewhat underwhelming and that there are targets to be had if he can insert himself into the Colts three-receiver sets. Burks posted a 69.6% success rate against man coverage and a 81.6% success rate when facing zone coverage in 2025. While he was asked to go deep on just 18.5% of his routes last season, Burks is a 90th percentile athlete in terms of his 40-time (4.33), broad jump, and vertical, showing off his explosive capabilities at the combine, which will lead to opportunities down the field with Alec Pierce having already demonstrated similar attributes over the past couple of seasons. While Downs projects as the primary slot option for the Colts, Burks will also see some opportunities to work out of the slot as the Colts look to take advantage of mismatches that Burks's speed can create.
