Warriors Extend Steve Kerr into his 13th Season
The Golden State Warriors have agreed to a new two-year contract with head coach Steve Kerr, ESPN's Shams Charania reports. The deal keeps Kerr as the highest-paid coach in the NBA, with the 2026-27 season marking his 13th at the helm. The agreement followed three weeks of talks with owner Joe Lacob and general manager Mike Dunleavy, covering offensive philosophy and roster construction. "It was never going to be about money," one team source told ESPN. "We had to make the best basketball decision." Kerr has won four NBA titles and reached six NBA Finals since taking over in 2014, but the Warriors finished 37-45 last season and missed the playoffs.
