Elite K Upside: High-Confidence Strikeout Picks
Chris Sale OVER 7.5 strikeouts (-110 Hard Rock)
Chris Sale is one of the best aces on the mound today and will be squaring off against the Philadelphia Phillies. Sale has looked sharp in three of his four starts, allowing two earned runs and striking out 15 batters across 18 IP in those three starts. Overall, he has struck out 22 batters across 22 innings pitched and has struck out six or more batters in three of four starts.
Sale's top three pitches each generate a 21.6% or better whiff rate, and he is generating a 31.6% whiff rate of his slider, which he uses 41.3% of the time. These should come in handy against a Phillies team that is currently struggling against left-handed pitching.
Over their previous 101 plate appearances, the Phillies are posting a K rate near 30% versus southpaws, which ranks them fourth-worst in the league. They are also posting just an 84 wRC+ mark, which should help limit damage against Sale. He is in a prime spot for this matchup.
Taj Bradley OVER 6.5 strikeouts (+112 NOVIG)
Taj Bradley has been the eighth wonder of the world to begin the 2026 campaign. Over his first 21 2/23 innings pitched, Bradley has struck out a whopping 29 batters. He has struck out seven or more batters in three of those four starts and has used multiple pitches to generate this success.
His curveball is currently generating a 41.2% whiff rate, and while he only uses this pitch about 10% of the time, we can also note that his second-most used pitch, the splitter, generates a 45% whiff rate. He has done well with his cutter as well, generating a 37.1% whiff rate.
He will be against the Reds, who have posted nearly a 23% K rate vs. right-handers over their previous 381 PA, which ranks them in the bottom half of baseball. They are also posting a lackluster 78 wRC+ mark over that span, making Bradley a really solid option for today's matchup.
