Chicago Blackhawks left wing Nick Lardis scored the team's only goal in Friday's 6-1 loss to the New York Rangers. He opened the scoring in the contest late in the first period, but the Blackhawks were overrun at Madison Square Garden. Chicago has struggled during the second half of the season, yet Lardis has recently enjoyed the best stretch of his rookie campaign. The 20-year-old has scored in three of the last four games, adding two assists. Overall, he has totaled 13 points (eight goals, five assists) in 32 games. Lardis has experienced quite a bit of frustration during his first NHL campaign, but he's finishing the year strongly and will look to keep his form going on Sunday against New Jersey.--Taavi Pailk
