Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 18:
Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales said the team is looking to get rookie first-round wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan more involved in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Saturday, according to Joseph Person of The Athletic. McMillan was under the weather last weekend and ended up catching just one pass for five yards in the Week 17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, his worst performance of his rookie season. "Our focal point is T-Mac. We try to build formations and try to get him into spots to get him the ball," Canales said.
"I didn't do a good enough job of that last week, and we'll make sure that that comes alive." McMillan saw a lot of man and press coverage, which was considered his weak spot coming out of college. In the first game against Tampa two weeks ago, McMillan had six catches for 73 yards and a touchdown. Fantasy managers playing for a title in Week 18 will be hoping the Panthers grease the squeaky wheel in the rematch.
Harold Fannin Jr., TE, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. (groin) aggravated a pre-existing injury during Sunday's Week 17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. He exited mid-game and later told Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal that he will undergo additional testing on Monday. The results of those medical tests should determine Fannin's exact diagnosis and whether he'll be able to play in next weekend's regular-season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals.
While it's a relatively meaningless game for both eliminated teams, Fannin noted that he played through the injury to start in Week 17, so it's fair to speculate that he might try to do the same in Week 18. His availability this Sunday, albeit short-lived, was useful for the Browns in their quest to take down Pittsburgh. Fannin maintained a larger role with David Njoku (knee) still sidelined, catching two passes for 30 yards and a touchdown. If active in Week 18, he'll rank as a mid-range TE1 with high-end upside.
Chimere Dike, WR, Tennessee Titans
Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver Chimere Dike has carved out a steady role in the team's passing game over the back half of the season, offering PPR appeal for fantasy managers in Week 18. Dike notched his fourth straight appearance with at least five targets on Sunday. While fantasy managers may gripe about his yardage totals, the 24-year-old has been a helpful asset for most of 2025, ranking as the WR31 since Week 7.
Perhaps more importantly, he played only behind teammate Elic Ayomanor in Sunday's 34-26 loss to the Saints. If that trend holds, a consolidated target share to the duo and tight end Chig Okonkwo is a strong possibility in the season's final week. Furthermore, rookie quarterback Cameron Ward's improved play has been a boon to the offense overall recently.
Jayden Higgins, WR, Houston Texans
Houston Texans rookie wide receiver Jayden Higgins got things started in Saturday's Week 17 win over the Chargers with a 75-yard touchdown strike from C.J. Stroud less than two minutes into the game. Four minutes later, it was Higgins' college teammate and fellow rookie Jaylin Noel on the receiving end of a 43-yard touchdown. While neither contributed much during a second half that saw the Texans struggle to maintain drives, Higgins, who finished the day with two catches for 88 yards and the aforementioned score, is still the player to roster heading into any Week 18 fantasy championships.
While Saturday was easily his best performance of the season, he has strung together usable weeks in the past, including a stretch from Weeks 8-12 that saw him finish with double-digit points in Half-PPR formats in three of five games. Against a reeling Indianapolis defense in Week 18, Higgins has the potential for one more meaningful flex performance as a plug-and-play option available on most waiver wires.
Dylan Sampson, RB, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns running back Dylan Sampson returned in Week 17 after a two-game absence due to calf and hand injuries, recording 27 scrimmage yards on 14 touches against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite his inefficient day against the Steelers, Sampson could be in line for a more productive Week 18 in an easier matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. With Browns running back Quinshon Judkins (ankle, leg) suffering a season-ending injury in Week 16, Cleveland split backfield touches in Week 17 between Sampson, Raheim Sanders, and Trayevon Williams.
Sanders led Browns running backs in snap share, but Sampson earned more touches (14) than Sanders and Williams combined (11). If Sampson remains the leader of the Cleveland backfield committee in Week 18, he should post better results. Fantasy managers in leagues with 12 or more teams should consider targeting Sampson on the waiver wire heading into the final week of the regular season.
