Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov (lower body) has been named the starter for Sunday's contest against the San Jose Sharks, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. This will be his first appearance since Kochetkov improved to 4-0-0 for the season with a 3-1 victory over the Boston Bruins on Nov. 17. He has missed eight games with a lower-body injury. While the sample size is small, Kochetkov has done a great job this season, posting a 1.70 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage. On Sunday, he faces an exciting Sharks attack, but Kochetkov and Carolina are expected to win the clash, as the bookmakers have the odds for a home victory at -333.--Taavi Pailk
