Players to Target in Trades for Fantasy Football

Omarion Hampton, RB, Chargers

Los Angeles Chargers rookie first-round running back Omarion Hampton (ankle) said he was dealing with a fractured ankle, according to Daniel Popper of The Athletic. Hampton also said he feels "amazing" and is hoping to be a full-go once he's activated from Injured Reserve. The 22-year-old Ohio State product fractured his ankle in Week 5 and has been out since, but he returned to a limited practice on Wednesday and has a shot to play this Sunday versus the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders.

Offensive coordinator Greg Roman hinted this week that Hampton could be in a timeshare with Kimani Vidal upon his return, which somewhat clouds his fantasy value upon his return. Hampton showed just before his ankle fracture that he's capable of RB1 upside with a heavy workload, but fantasy managers may want to temper expectations initially if L.A. looks to ease him back into the fold.

Verdict: Target in all formats, as Hampton will become an RB1 as soon as he is activated from the IR.

RJ Havey, RB, Broncos

Denver Broncos rookie running back R.J. Harvey played a season-high 60.7% of the snaps in Week 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs, but had underwhelming production with 11 carries for 30 yards to go with three receptions (three targets) for 20 yards as a receiver. In the first game without J.K. Dobbins (foot), the rookie second-rounder handled the bulk of the running back touches, which bodes well for his rest of season outlook.

Jaleel McLaughin's involvement near the goal line could limit the upside as he took two of the three carries inside the 10 and scored a touchdown against the Chiefs, but we'll need to see more than one game to determine that. Harvey has the explosiveness and receiving ability to be impactful in fantasy down the stretch, and he gets a prime matchup in Week 13 against the Washington Commanders.

Verdict: Senaky buy candidate as he should see his role slowly grow during the final month of the season.

Bucky Irving, RB, Buccnaeers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) is on track to return from a lengthy absence in Week 13 against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday after putting in a full practice on Wednesday, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. Irving has not played since Week 4 due to a subluxation of his shoulder and a foot sprain, but all signs are pointing to him being active this weekend in Week 13 in a plus matchup.

Irving's fantasy managers have to be stoked that he's finally returning, but the Bucs fully plan to ease him back into their backfield, which will make him extremely volatile in his first game back. The 23-year-old was Tampa's clear lead back before his injuries, carrying the ball 71 times for 237 yards and no touchdowns while adding 193 receiving yards and two TDs.

Irving will have a key role down the stretch, but he might have to share work more with Sean Tucker and Rachaad White than he did to begin the 2025 season.

Verdict: Prime buy-low candidate. While his workload will be monitored, Irving has RB1 upside down the stretch.

Players to Trade Away for Fantasy Football

Quinshon Judkins, RB, Browns

Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins averaged a paltry 2.9 yards per carry and had 47 rushing yards on 16 carries in the 24-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, but he saved his day for fantasy managers by scoring twice on the ground in the first half in Week 12. The 22-year-old was not targeted in the passing game and has not caught a pass in the last two games.

Judkins also suffered a head injury in the fourth quarter and was sent to the medical tent, but he was cleared before the end of the contest. The Ohio State product's head injury allowed Dylan Sampson to get some run late in the contest, and he took advantage of it by ripping off a 66-yard touchdown catch. Judkins hasn't been very efficient on the ground in the last three games, but as long as he's healthy enough to play in Week 13 against the San Francisco 49ers, where he'll remain an RB2 play in fantasy football.

Verdict: Sell at his peak as his value following his two-TD game. Judkins' inconsistent QB play will hinder his upside.

Ashton Jeanty, RB, Raiders

Las Vegas Raiders head coach Pete Carroll said on Monday that the ankle injury that rookie first-round running back Ashton Jeanty (ankle) picked up late in Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Browns isn't severe, according to Ryan McFadden of ESPN. Jeanty should have a chance to play in Week 13 against the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers, but fantasy managers will want to keep a close eye on the 21-year-old's practice status this week.

Jeanty struggled on the ground yet again in Week 12 against a strong Browns defense, but he still managed to go over 100 scrimmage yards and scored a touchdown on 25 touches. If healthy, Jeanty will continue to be the Raiders' clear RB1, but his fantasy upside is limited behind a bad offensive line in an offense that is averaging just 15 points per game, which is tied for last in the NFL. Raheem MostertZamir White, and Dylan Laube could share backfield touches if Jeanty were to miss time.

Verdict: Sell if you can for a similar high-end RB2. His offensive environment will limit his upside.

Jauan Jennings, WR, 49ers

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that the NFL will review San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings' actions on Monday night against the Carolina Panthers for a possible fine, but he won't be suspended. Panthers safety Tre'Von Moehrig took a cheap shot to a sensitive area for Jennings late in Monday night's game, and Jennings had to be held back following the conclusion of the contest.

The 28-year-old caught five of his seven targets for 41 yards and his fourth touchdown of the season in the 20-9 victory. Three of Jennings' four scores on the year have come in the last four games, and he has a higher fantasy ceiling with quarterback Brock Purdy recovered from a turf-toe injury that caused him to miss most of the season.

Going into a tough Week 13 matchup against the Cleveland Browns, Jennings should be viewed as a touchdown-dependent WR3/flex option.

Verdict: Sell-high candidate for a mid-end WR2. With Pearsall working his way back, Jennings will likely see his target share steadily decline.

  • Deebo Samuel Sr.
  • Kimani Vidal
