Jonathan Huberdeau Remains Under Evaluation
Calgary Flames left wing Jonathan Huberdeau (undisclosed) is still being evaluated after getting hurt in Wednesday's preseason game against the Vancouver Canucks, general manager Craig Conroy told reporters on Thursday. Huberdeau was injured late in the game when he collided with Canucks goaltender Kevin Lankinen. Losing Huberdeau long-term would be an unexpected blow for the Flames, as the 32-year-old has missed only a handful of games over the past four seasons. He was available for 81 contests last season, posting 62 points (28 goals, 34 assists). Connor Zary may start the campaign as a member of the top six if Huberdeau isn't available for opening night. The Flames kick off the year with the Battle of Alberta against the Edmonton Oilers on Oct. 8.
