Bowen Byram Considered Day-to-Day
Buffalo Sabres defenseman Bowen Byram (undisclosed) is considered day-to-day. He sustained an undisclosed injury in Saturday's 5-2 preseason win against the Detroit Red Wings. Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff said Byram might skate on his own Tuesday and won't play against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday. The Sabres begin their regular season against the New York Rangers on Oct. 9, so Byram still has around a week and a half to get healthy. He's expected to deliver a big season after signing a two-year, $12.5 million contract extension in the summer. In 2024-25, Byram had a career-high 38 points (seven goals, 31 assists) with 94 shots, 116 blocks, and 75 hits across 82 outings.
