Mattias Samuelsson Battling Upper-Body Injury
Buffalo Sabres defenseman Mattias Samuelsson (upper body) is doubtful for Saturday's preseason game against the Detroit Red Wings, Bill Hoppe of Buffalo Hockey Beat reports. The 25-year-old sat out Friday's practice with an upper-body injury. "We'll have him evaluated," Sabred head coach Lindy Ruff said after practice. "He had a good practice yesterday, and maybe that affected what's been bothering him." Samuelsson skated in a career-high 62 games last season, registering 14 points (four goals, 10 assists), 52 shots, 93 blocks, and 105 hits. He rarely contributes offensively, making Samuelsson a non-factor in fantasy hockey.
