Reed Garrett Recommended for Tommy John Surgery
Reed Garrett (elbow) has been recommended for Tommy John surgery, according to Tim Britton of The Athletic. Garrett already has another offseason surgery scheduled to move a nerve in his right arm. That would only shelve him for four months, but if he has to undergo Tommy John, he'll miss all of next season. While the Mets and the 32-year-old are still exploring other options - including a platelet-rich plasma injection - he's done for 2025 at the very least. Garrett landed on the 15-day injured list twice this season with elbow troubles, most recently on Sept. 15. He made 58 appearances this year and pitched to a 3.90 ERA with a 1.32 WHIP, 64:26 K:BB, 20 holds, and three saves over 55 1/3 innings.
