NFL Week 3 Fantasy Football Weather Report

Brandon Aubrey - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups, Kickers, Streamers

Kipp's Week 3 NFL weather report for fantasy football (2025). He looks at which NFL games will be affected by weather to make key fantasy start/sit decisions.

Hello everyone, and welcome back to our Week 3 fantasy football weather report for the 2025 NFL season! The first couple of weeks of games brought us a ton of excitement and very limited weather issues aside from a lightning delay in Week 1. As a reminder, I will be here each and every week through the Super Bowl to discuss the weather forecasts for every NFL game, where appropriate. This is an article that is near and dear to my heart, as I am always looking for a weather edge where I can find one.

We will rely on the most accurate and up-to-date weather forecasts for each stadium from AccuWeather, a source that provides comprehensive weather maps. Factors such as temperature, precipitation, wind speed/direction, and visibility can play a crucial role in shaping game outcomes and statistics.

Our goal with this article is to assist you in making informed decisions for your fantasy teams and other betting activities, allowing you to capitalize on opportunities or navigate challenges posed by weather dynamics. Additionally, I hope to be able to update the article at least once each weekend before games kick off, as this article does publish on Thursdays. Here is your comprehensive fantasy football weather report for Week 3 of the 2025 season.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Dome Games (No Weather Impact)

Some games in Week 3 will benefit from being played in domed stadiums, where the weather won't affect the outcome. These indoor venues provide a consistent environment.

  • Cincinnati Bengals @ Minnesota Vikings
  • Denver Broncos @ Los Angeles Chargers

Minimal Weather Impact

These outdoor games in Week 3 don't appear to have very many weather concerns.

Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills (Thursday Night Slate)

The Miami Dolphins are off to a rough 0-2 start and now have to travel to Orchard Park to take on division-rival Buffalo. Miami should consider itself lucky to be traveling in September as opposed to later in the year, as the weather for Thursday night should be solid.

AccuWeather notes that temperatures will be mild, in the mid-60s, under clear skies. Wind should also be of no major concern as sustained winds are expected to be around 6 mph, while gusts are expected to be about 17 mph. It should be a great evening for football at Highmark Stadium.

Atlanta Falcons @ Carolina Panthers (Sunday Early Slate)

The 1-1 Falcons will travel to the 0-2 Panthers on Sunday afternoon for an NFC South divisional matchup. The weather in Charlotte at Bank of America Stadium should be pretty solid for football. Overall, temperatures are expected to be in the low 80s with plenty of sunshine. Sustained winds are expected to be around 8 mph with occasional gusts pushing 20 mph. 20 mph gusts are nothing to completely write off, especially if a gust strikes during a kick; however, I would not recommend sitting any players here based on this information.

Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars (Sunday Early Slate)

The surprisingly 0-2 Houston Texans travel to Jacksonville to take on the 1-1 Jaguars at EverBank Stadium in what should be a highly contested AFC South matchup. AccuWeather suggests pretty much what we would expect in Florida during September football.

Overall, temperatures will be in the mid-80s, and of course, there will be an opportunity for a thunderstorm in the afternoon under humid air. This is not dissimilar to the Patriots and Dolphins game last week, which ended up being a shootout. I would continue to run your guys out there as usual.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ New England Patriots (Sunday Early Slate)

The 1-1 Steelers will travel to Foxborough to take on the 1-1 Patriots at Gillette Stadium in what should be a good matchup between AFC foes. Overall, temperatures are expected to be in the mid-60s, which is great football weather. Winds are also expected to be mild, with sustained winds hovering around 8 mph and gusts pushing close to 15 mph. Skies should also be clear with very little chance of precipitation. This should be a great scene for football on Sunday.

Los Angeles Rams @ Philadelphia Eagles (Sunday Early Slate)

The 2-0 Rams travel to Philadelphia to take on the 2-0 Eagles in what should be a highly contested NFC matchup. These two teams met in the NFC Divisional Round back in January, with the Eagles pulling out a close victory en route to winning their second Super Bowl. Temperatures for this game will be in the mid-70s under mostly cloudy skies. That being said, there is only an 18% chance of precipitation, and winds are expected to be mild with sustained winds coming in around 8 mph and gusts closer to 15 mph.

New York Jets @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Sunday Early Slate)

We have another game in the great state of Florida, this one is between the 0-2 Jets and the 2-0 Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium. The weather here is expected to be similar to that in Jacksonville on Sunday, with temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s. We also have the chance for some afternoon thunderstorms with a 66% chance of precipitation.

I do not expect to have any major concerns with fantasy rosters in this game; however, a second look will certainly be given to this game on Saturday. As of now, rain would be the only concern, as wind gusts are currently expected to be just 13 mph.

Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans (Sunday Early Slate)

The surprisingly 2-0 Colts will travel to Nashville to take on the unsurprisingly 0-2 Titans in an AFC South divisional battle. Temperatures in Nashville are expected to be in the mid-80s with a decent amount of cloud cover. AccuWeather notes that we could see some thunderstorms in the morning; however, they should give way to cloudy skies in the afternoon. Winds are expected to be sustained at 8 mph with gusts closer to 16 mph.

New Orleans Saints @ Seattle Seahawks (Sunday Late Slate)

The 0-2 Saints will travel to Seattle to take on the 1-1 Seahawks at Lumen Field. While Seattle is known for its rain, that will not be the case in this game, as temperatures are expected to be in the upper 60s with plenty of sunshine. Winds are expected to be mild with sustained winds hovering around 6 mph and gusts of approximately 15 mph.

Arizona Cardinals @ San Francisco 49ers (Sunday Late Slate)

We have an awesome NFC West matchup between the 2-0 Cardinals and the 2-0 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara in Week 3. Overall, the weather should be solid, with temperatures in the mid-80s. Plenty of sunshine is expected as well, and winds are expected to be around 10 mph with gusts near 14 mph. This game looks like a full go for all fantasy players.

Kansas City Chiefs @ New York Giants (Sunday Night Slate)

The unfathomable 0-2 Chiefs travel to the Meadowlands to take on the expected 0-2 New York Giants in a must-have game for Kansas City. The weather for this game at MetLife Stadium should be great, as temperatures are expected to be in the upper 50s with very little wind, with gusts only expected to be around 8 mph. There is no chance of rain as it stands now, either. This should be a great atmosphere for Sunday Night Football.

Detroit Lions @ Baltimore Ravens (Monday Night Slate)

In what is likely the game of the week, the 1-1 Lions will travel to Baltimore to face the 1-1 Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium. This game is sure to feature plenty of fantasy studs, and it appears that all systems are a go, as no serious weather implications are pending. Currently, AccuWeather has temperatures in the mid-60s with just a 24% chance of precipitation and 0% chance of a thunderstorm. Sustained winds are also expected to be modest at 6 mph, with gusts near 15 mph.

Moderate Weather Impact

Let's take a look at some games where the weather is not quite severe, but could still have a moderate impact on the game and help give us some information on what types of skill players might be worth being more cautious with.

Green Bay Packers @ Cleveland Browns (Sunday Early Slate)

The Packers will travel to Cleveland in Week 3 to take on the Browns at Huntington Bank Field. The weather should be pretty decent, although we may have a shower or two to contend with. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-to-high 80s with sustained winds hovering around the 8 mph mark.

Wind gusts could creep up to 22 mph as well. Additionally, AccuWeather notes that there is a 64% chance of rain with a possibility of a thunderstorm. This does not appear to be a situation where we are looking at torrential downpours all game, so starting your fantasy players aside from kickers is probably still pretty safe.

Dallas Cowboys @ Chicago Bears (Sunday Late Slate)

We have a solid matchup between the 1-1 Cowboys and 0-2 Bears at Soldier Field in Chicago on Sunday afternoon. This game has the potential to get dicey, as we could see some afternoon showers combined with wind gusts pushing up to 28 mph. This would give me pause in starting kickers on either team, even though Brandon Aubrey is as dynamic a kicker as we have in the NFL. This game will definitely require an additional check leading up to kickoff.

Severe Weather Impact

There are currently no games scheduled in Week 3 featuring severe weather concerns.
