Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 2:
Quinshon Judkins, RB, Cleveland
Cleveland Browns rookie second-round running back Quinshon Judkins will join the rest of the team for practice this week after finally signing his rookie deal on Sept. 6, but head coach Kevin Stefanski was non-committal on whether Judkins will be active in the Week 2 contest this Sunday against the division-rival Baltimore Ravens.
The Browns have been optimistic that the 21-year-old will be ready to go in Week 2, but a report also surfaced over the weekend that suggested he could be facing a multi-week suspension from the NFL despite not being formally charged in a domestic-violence case.
Judkins is expected to eventually take over lead-back duties in Cleveland in 2025, but he missed all of training camp and the preseason. Even if Judkins is available this weekend against Baltimore, he will probably be eased into the offense and would be an extremely risky RB in fantasy lineups.
Matthew Golden, WR, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receivers Matthew Golden (ankle) and Dontayvion Wicks (calf) were both listed as limited on Monday's estimated practice report, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. The Packers did not actually practice as they head into a short week this Thursday night to kick off Week 2 against the Washington Commanders.
Golden will join the injury report for the first time in 2025, but the 22-year-old first-rounder should play on Thursday night. In his NFL debut, he was quiet, going for two catches for 16 yards while playing just under 50 percent of the offensive snaps.
If Golden is active on Thursday, he will be the more attractive WR4/flex upside play over Wicks against Washington.
Harold Fannin Jr., TE, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. saw a team-high nine targets during their Week 1 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. On these targets, Fannin was able to catch seven of them for 63 yards. Even though Fannin opened the season as the team's No. 2 tight end behind veteran David Njoku, the third-round rookie appears to have a significant role in the team's passing attack.
Fannin's nine targets were three more than Njoku's total and one more than both top wide receivers, Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman. Fantasy managers should continue to keep a close eye on his usage as Fannin could find a fantasy viable role despite sitting second on the depth chart.
For the time being, Fannin should be viewed as a low-end TE1 in deeper 12+ team leagues heading into a Week 2 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.
Elic Ayomanor, WR, Tennessee Titans
Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver Elic Ayomanor saw seven targets come his way on Sunday, trailing only first-round picks Travis Hunter and Tetairoa McMillan amongst rookies at the position in Week 1. Unfortunately, he was only able to convert those looks into two receptions for 13 yards against a stout Denver defense.
Ayomanor's heavy workload was likely the result of top option Calvin Ridley being shadowed by All-Pro corner Patrick Surtain II. Still, the thought has been that one of the Titans' rookie receivers would have a chance to emerge on a relatively weak depth chart.
After one week, it appears that Ayomanor will have a substantial role. While the Titans' passing game was completely ineffective on Sunday, brighter days should be ahead with quarterback Cam Ward under center, and Ayomanor is worth a stash in deep leagues.
Tyler Warren, TE, Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts first-round tight end Tyler Warren looked very sharp in his first career NFL game on Sunday, hauling in seven of nine targets for 76 yards and leading the Colts in targets and receptions on the afternoon. The Colts' offense looked great against the Miami Dolphins as they went on to win 33-8 in what was an absolute blowout for the Colts in their home opener.
Warren appeared to have an excellent rapport with quarterback Daniel Jones. If Week 1 is any indication of his career, fantasy managers are going to be excited that they drafted Warren later in drafts.
The Colts drafted Warren 14th overall with their first-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft, and Warren should remain a reliable option in all formats, especially in PPR formats, ahead of a Week 2 matchup against the Denver Broncos
