German Marquez Expected to Land on Injured List With Biceps Inflammation
German Marquez (biceps) said he is dealing with biceps tendon inflammation and is expected to land on the 15-day injured list, according to MLB.com's Thomas Harding. Marquez underwent an MRI exam on Tuesday, which confirmed his biceps inflammation. Right-hander Tanner Gordon is with the team in Colorado and is in line to make the start for Wednesday's contest at Coors Field against the St. Louis Cardinals. The 30-year-old Marquez hasn't been much of a fantasy asset in 2025, going 3-11 with a 5.67 ERA, 1.64 WHIP, 73 strikeouts and 35 walks in 98 1/3 innings pitched over his 20 starts. Marquez was pulled from his last start early on Sunday against the Minnesota Twins after giving up three earned runs in three innings. It's possible that he'll be sidelined beyond two weeks with this injury.
