Jaleel McLaughlin 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Change-of-Pace Back's Stock is Down Following Offseason Additions
Javonte Williams signed with the Dallas Cowboys in free agency in the offseason, but running back Jaleel McLaughlin's path to fantasy relevance got even tougher going into 2025 after the Denver Broncos drafted RJ Harvey in the second round and signed veteran J.K. Dobbins in free agency. The specific usage structure of this new-look Broncos backfield -- Audric Estime and Tyler Badie are still around -- is unclear at the moment, but the expectation is that Harvey and Dobbins will see most of the touches on a weekly basis. McLaughlin, a 24-year-old former undrafted free agent, has averaged a healthy 4.8 yards per carry in his two seasons with the Broncos, but at best, he'll enter 2025 as the No. 3 back without much pass-catching ability. Despite averaging almost 5.0 yards a carry on 189 career rushing attempts, McLaughlin has only two rushing TDs for Denver. The 5-foot-7, 187-pounder is slippery and elusive, but his lack of size basically eliminates him from ever having a hefty role, especially with Harvey and Dobbins now in town. McLaughlin should go undrafted in 12-team fantasy leagues, and RotoBaller has him ranked as the No. 65 fantasy RB.
