Marvin Mims Jr. 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Big-Play Wideout Needs More Usage, Consistency
Marvin Mims Jr. has earned Pro Bowl nods in each of his first two NFL seasons for his work as a return specialist, but as a pass-catcher, he's been very inconsistent despite his big-play abilities (average of 10.3 yards after the catch). The 23-year-old former second-rounder in 2023 out of Oklahoma caught just 11 of 19 targets for 69 yards in his first 10 games in 2024 before catching 28 of 33 targets for 434 yards and all six of his touchdowns in the final seven weeks of the regular season. Mims was targeted much more often late in the year after a Week 11 breakout performance, but he just wasn't on the field enough to warrant any kind of real fantasy attention in 12-team leagues. While Mims is going to be a part of Denver's offensive plan in 2025, the Broncos did add veteran tight end Evan Engram and rookie receiver Pat Bryant, which could continue to make it difficult for him to make a weekly impact. At best, Mims is a WR5 target in deeper fantasy leagues, with RotoBaller ranking him as the WR53 in half-PPR setups.
