San Diego Padres left-handed pitching prospect Kash Mayfield tossed three no-hit innings on Wednesday during his start against Low-A Rancho Cucamonga. In this outing, Mayfield allowed one run (unearned) and served up just one free pass. He struck out a season-high eight batters. Since allowing three runs on May 6, the former 25th overall pick has been able to find his footing at Low-A. Over his last nine innings of work, Mayfield has not allowed an earned run and posted a 21:1 K:BB. During this stretch, he has also not surrendered a hit. However, during his first 19 1/3 innings of the campaign, Mayfield posted a hefty 5.59 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP. Fantasy managers should expect the 20-year-old to be in the mix to earn a taste of High-A later in the campaign.--Andy SmithRead More News
