Sam Aldegheri Joins Big-League Club
Sam Aldegheri from Double-A Rocket City. Aldegheri, the team's No. 5 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will make his return to the big leagues after debuting in 2024. The 23-year-old southpaw only made three starts for the Halos last year and allowed 12 runs (seven earned) on 15 hits (two homers allowed) while walking 10 and striking out 10 in 13 innings of work. The Italian hurler gets the call after going 2-2 with a 4.34 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 48:27 K:BB in 47 2/3 innings over his nine starts at Rocket City this year. The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder has an intriguing four-pitch mix and has the ability to generate plenty of swings and misses, but he'll need to show much better control of his arsenal to have sustained success in the big leagues. It's unclear what role Aldegheri will have with the Angels now that he's back in the big leagues.
