Red Sox Acquire Ryan Noda From Angels
Ryan Noda from the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations. The move comes after Noda had been designated for assignment by the Angels with the Red Sox still looking for other options at first base following Triston Casas' (knee) season-ending injury. After acquiring the 29-year-old from the Angels, Boston optioned Noda to Triple-A Worcester. While Noda gives the BoSox a bit more depth at the position the rest of the year, he's still likely a long shot to end up seeing regular at-bats in the big leagues in 2025. The former 15th-round pick by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2017 out of Cincinnati has yet to play in the majors this year and has a .212/.344/.369 slash line with 17 homers and 58 RBI in two years with the A's in 2023-24.
