One driver that was surprisingly slow during practice and qualifying at Kansas Speedway on Saturday was AJ Allmendinger. The No. 16 Chevrolet was the slowest car in practice by a good margin, over five miles-per-hour slower than the fastest (Ty Gibbs' No. 54 Toyota) and nearly a full mile-per-hour slower than the second-slowest car (Erik Jones' No. 43 Toyota). In qualifying, it didn't get much better for Allmendinger, either, as he wound up 33rd-fastest out of the 38 cars. It's safe to say that his team has a lot of work to do on race day to get The Dinger to a competitive state. With that being said, there is hope. Allmendinger has been sneaky good on intermediate tracks this season, finishing eighth at Las Vegas, seventh at Homestead, and 18th at Darlington. At Kansas specifically, Allmendinger finished 14th here in the spring 2023 race despite starting back in 27th-place. At $6,100 on DraftKings, it's definitely worth having some AJ Allmendinger exposure with your lineups simply because of the Place Differential upside (at a cheap price).--Jordan McAbee
