New York Islanders goaltender Marcus Hogberg (upper body) was activated from Injured Reserve on Sunday. In a corresponding move, the team returned Jakub Skarek to the AHL. Hogberg has been out for 14 games due to an upper-body injury. He may receive the starting nod on Sunday against the Anaheim Ducks after Ilya Sorokin worked Saturday's matchup against the San Jose Sharks. Hogberg owns a 2-2-0 record for the season, allowing 1.45 goals with a .947 save percentage. Semyon Varlamov (lower body) is likely to miss the remainder of the regular season, making Hogberg the primary backup to Sorokin.--Taavi Pailk
