Austin Eckroat missed the cut at the Genesis Invitational two weeks ago, marking his fourth missed cut in six appearances. He is now focusing on preparing for this week's Cognizant Classic at PGA National Resort, where he is the defending champion. Eckroat will need to improve his game to have a chance at defending his title. It's worth noting that over the past 12 months, Eckroat ranks in the 92nd percentile for proximity to the hole on approach shots from 150 to 200 yards in the fairway. This is significant because, at last year's Cognizant Classic, over 44% of approach shots came from this distance.
