One of the best things about playing in a dynasty fantasy football league is that it is year-round. So, even though football won't be on your screens in April or May, you can still make trades and improve your team for the upcoming season.

Although most fantasy managers will likely be trying to trade away older players this offseason to acquire picks, it could be smart for some contending teams to buy several aging players in the coming months. This can also be a great strategy for those teams that might only be a couple of pieces away from contending.

Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans will turn 32 years old before next season, so he is definitely on the older side at the position. However, he is someone contending teams should be looking to buy in the coming months.

Evans has shown no signs of slowing down and just totaled 1,000 receiving yards for the 11th straight season this past year. Not only has he been a consistent 1,000-yard receiver in his career, but the veteran has finished as a top-12 fantasy wideout in half-PPR formats in six of the past seven seasons.

As a result, he is one of the best aging wide receivers to buy in dynasty this offseason. He likely won't cost a lot -- as his dynasty value on KeepTradeCut (KTC) is the WR35 -- and he has been a consistent fantasy option for managers over the years. It might only cost you a second- and third-round pick to acquire the Buccaneers playmaker.

Joe Mixon, Houston Texans

Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon was one of the best fantasy options this past season. He totaled 1,016 yards on the ground to go with 11 rushing touchdowns. That helped him average 17.2 PPR fantasy points in his first year with the team.

Even though Mixon will be turning 29 years old in July, he is a player contending teams should be buying in dynasty formats. He is listed as the RB18 on KTC and still has a couple of solid years left in him.

He is the clear RB1 in this Houston offense, and it won't cost much for contending teams to buy him this offseason. It will likely cost a second- and third-round pick to acquire him. Using those picks to get a consistent fantasy running back could help your dynasty team get over the hump.

James Conner, Arizona Cardinals

Trading for Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner might be a risk this offseason. Conner will turn 30 years old in May and has never played a full season in his career. However, the veteran is coming off arguably the best season of his career.

He totaled a career-high 1,094 rush yards to go with eight rushing touchdowns. Conner also always seems to turn things up in the back half of the fantasy season. He averaged 26.7 PPR fantasy points from Week 14 to Week 16 this past year and 23.9 PPR fantasy points from Week 13 to Week 18 during the 2023 campaign.

As a result, Conner is a nice aging target in dynasty fantasy football leagues this offseason. With an RB23 value on KTC, he also won't cost fantasy managers a lot of draft capital.
