Fantasy Football WR Injury Reports: Week 4 Updates For Chris Olave, Tank Dell, DeVonta Smith, Davante Adams, more

Chris Olave - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Fantasy football WR injury updates and reports for Week 4 (2024), as of 9/28. Includes updates on Chris Olave, Tank Dell, DeVonta Smith, Davante Adams, and more.

Can I interest you in a midweek hamstring injury? No? Too bad, that's what fantasy managers are getting ahead of Week 4. And it's impacting some big-name wide receivers.

Let's look at the updates for some wide receivers and see whether they may play in Week 4.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Davante Adams (LV) Injury Update

Game Status: OUT

The first midweek hamstring injury of the article comes to us from Davante Adams. The Raiders' star receiver suffered his injury during practice on Thursday. By Friday, head coach Antonio Pierce ruled him out.

Tight end Michael Mayer (personal) is also sitting out Sunday's contest against the Browns. Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers will command most of the targets. Tre Tucker will also see a boost in his stock.

Jordan Addison (MIN) Injury Update

Game Status: No injury designation

Jordan Addison is off the injury report and will suit up on Sunday. The second-year wideout missed the last two weeks with an ankle injury. Sam Darnold will have his full allotment of weapons against a divisional matchup with Green Bay at Lambeau Field.

Keenan Allen (CHI) Injury Update

Game Status: Questionable

It's trending toward Keenan Allen (heel) taking the field for the first time since Week 1. The veteran wideout was upgraded to a full participant in Friday's practice but is officially listed as questionable.

Seeing the Bears limit his snaps in his return wouldn't be a surprise. D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze can shoulder the load in a favorable matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Keep Allen on fantasy football benches this week.

A.J. Brown (PHI) Injury Update

Game Status: Questionable

A.J. Brown has missed two games in a row with his hamstring injury. Before Week 2, he told ESPN's Lisa Salters that he expects the hamstring injury to keep him out for "a couple of weeks." That could put him back into play for Week 4 against the Buccaneers, and he did practice in a limited fashion on Friday. The Eagles have a bye in Week 5, so the team could play it safe and hold him out.

The Eagles will be without DeVonta Smith (more below) and Britain Covey (IR, shoulder). If Brown also can't play, Dallas Goedert and Saquon Barkley will be a two-man show for the Philadelphia offense.

Nico Collins (HOU) Injury Update

Game Status: No injury designations

Nico Collins popped up on the injury report with a limited practice session on Thursday. A hamstring issue was to blame. This midweek hamstring injury, thankfully, isn't as bad. Collins was a full participant in Friday's practice. He will play on Sunday. Collins should be started in fantasy football lineups across the board.

Gabe Davis (JAX) Injury Update

Game Status: Questionable

Gabe Davis left Monday night's loss to the Buffalo Bills with a shoulder injury. He was in clear discomfort on the sideline. It's bothered him through the week, tallying three limited practices.

He's on the good side of questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Houston Texans. However, Davis shouldn't be anywhere near fantasy lineups. He's scored 20 PPR points through three weeks and is the not-so-nice WR69.

Tank Dell (HOU) Injury Update

Game Status: OUT

Nico Collins is ready for Sunday, but his counterpart, Tank Dell, is not. Dell came out of the Week 3 loss with soreness to his chest. He did not practice this week and will not suit up against the Jaguars.

Collins and Stefon Diggs will lead the wide receiver corps in a favorable matchup against Jacksonville. Robert Woods, Xavier Hutchinson, and John Metchie will tag-team the effort to fill Dell's void.

Mike Evans / Chris Godwin (TB) Injury Update

Game Status: No injury designations

Tampa Bay's top wide receivers, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, were limited in practices this week. Evans was downgraded to a DNP on Friday, but it's nothing to worry about. The team noted that the veteran was given a rest day.

Both Evans and Godwin aren't carrying injury designations into the Sunday afternoon tussle with the Philadelphia Eagles. The duo should be started in all leagues.

Marvin Harrison Jr. (ARI) Injury Update

Game Status: No injury designation

A quad issue had Marvin Harrison Jr. only participating in parts of practice on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, he was a full participant.

The rookie is cleared for Sunday and draws the easiest matchup of his young career. The Washington Commanders field one of the worst secondaries in the league. He's locked in as a fantasy football WR1.

Diontae Johnson (CAR) Injury Update

Game Status: Questionable

Diontae Johnson's sudden revival with Andy Dalton under center will likely continue in Week 4. Johnson sat out of Thursday's practice with a groin injury. He told reporters it was out of precaution due to field conditions.

As promised, the first-year Panther was back on the practice field on Friday, albeit in a limited fashion. He's officially listed as questionable. He's ranked as a high-end WR2 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Cooper Kupp (LAR) Injury Update

Game Status: OUT

The belief was that Cooper Kupp would be placed on injured reserve following his Week 2 ankle injury. Kupp avoided injured reserve, but he's been ruled out for Week 4.

He will likely miss a couple more games before returning to the Rams lineup. With Puka Nacua already on injured reserve, Demarcus RobinsonTyler JohnsonJordan Whittington, and Tutu Atwell will be the top wide receivers for Matthew Stafford again. The Rams relied more on Kyren Williams and the running game to top San Francisco in Week 3.

Jalen McMillan (TB) Injury Update

Game Status: Doubtful

Separate from the other Tampa Bay receivers, Jalen McMillan is questionable with a midweek hamstring injury. The rookie was limited in practice on Friday, but it doesn't appear it's enough for the team to trot him onto the field. He's doubtful on the injury report.

His absence doesn't cause many ripple effects. Evans and Godwin will command the majority of Baker Mayfield's pass attempts against Philadelphia.

Chris Olave (NO) Injury Update

UPDATE: Olave is ACTIVE for Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons

Game Status: Questionable

Another midweek hamstring injury! This one doesn't bode well. Chris Olave suffered the injury during practice on Friday. He's considered day-to-day. Players who suffer a Friday injury aren't usually active on Sunday.

The shallow Saints' wide receiver room could struggle against Atlanta if Olave can't play. A.T. Perry is also out. Rashid Shaheed will move into the WR1 role with UDFA Mason Tipton seeing an increase in snaps and targets. Taysom Hill could also be utilized more than usual.

Deebo Samuel Sr. (SF) Injury Update

Game Status: Questionable

Deebo Samuel is recovering quickly from his calf injury, putting in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. The 49ers officially list the do-it-all receiver as questionable.

Samuel suffered the calf strain in Week 2 and was originally expected to miss multiple weeks. If Samuel only misses one week and is active on Sunday, he should be placed in lineups as a high-end WR2. Jauan Jennings will get another shot in the spotlight if the team plays it safe with Samuel.

DeVonta Smith (PHI) Injury Update

Game Status: OUT

DeVonta Smith exited the Eagles' victory over the Saints after a brutal hit that popped his helmet off and required Smith to enter the concussion protocol.

Smith has been ruled out for Week 4. The Eagles have a bye in Week 5, so fantasy managers can expect a healthy Smith when the Eagles return to action.
