2024 NFL QB Power Rankings: All 32 Starting Quarterbacks for Week 2

josh allen fantasy football rankings NFL injury news DFS lineup picks

Quincy Milton ranks all 32 starting NFL quarterbacks for Week 2 of the 2024 season. From Patrick Mahomes to Bo Nix, see where your favorite quarterback falls.

Week 1 has come and gone and football fans can finally rejoice. However, the most important position in the league did not exactly have a successful week. There were only two 300-yard passers in Week 1 and half the league threw for less than 200 yards.

Those numbers are poised to go up. After all, you cannot overreact to Week 1. With so many young and promising quarterbacks in the NFL, this should be an exciting season.

Several veterans gave us more of the same while many young players struggled in their debuts or continued to struggle in their second year. That is where our QB Power Rankings come into play. Let's take a look at where everyone stands after Week 1.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

1. Patrick Mahomes - Kansas City Chiefs

Mahomes did nothing in Week 1 to give up his mantle as the quarterback king. Mahomes threw for 291 yards and a touchdown against a stout Ravens defense. He displayed great chemistry with his young receivers and was stellar on a day in which Travis Kelce only recorded three receptions.

2. Josh Allen - Buffalo Bills

Allen was other-worldly in Week 1. He threw for 232 yards, ran for 39 yards, and recorded four total touchdowns. There is no Bills win without Allen's literal high-flying efforts.

3. Lamar Jackson - Baltimore Ravens

Mahomes' opponent in Week 1 was a superman. The Ravens would not have been in the game against the Chiefs without Jackson's 273 passing yards and 122 rushing yards. Even so, Jackson was bumped down to No. 3 on this list because of his inability to make the big throws necessary to put the Ravens over the top in Week 1.

4. C.J. Stroud - Houston Texans

Stroud was everything we wanted in Week 1. On a day in which he faced constant pressure, he made play after play to get the Texans their win. The Texans will go as Stroud goes in 2024.

5. Joe Burrow - Cincinnati Bengals

Burrow and the Bengals' performance in Week 1 was concerning. However, the fifth-year quarterback cannot fall too far down this list because he was missing Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase was relatively limited. Burrow has a chance to bounce back in Week 2 but he will face a tough Chiefs defense.

6. Jalen Hurts - Philadelphia Eagles

Hurts was uneven in Week 1. He threw a couple of bad interceptions but also looked like his former MVP-caliber self at times. If he can find his consistency once again, then he may find himself in the top five on this list.

7. Tua Tagovailoa - Miami Dolphins

Tagovailoa's run of unequivocal success early in the season continued in Week 1. Tagovailoa torched the Jaguars for 338 yards and a touchdown. That type of play will keep him in the top 10 on this list.

8. Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys

Prescott had a quiet statistical outing against an excellent Browns defense in Week 1. However, he did what the Cowboys needed to win. The newly minted $240 million man is in store for another stellar season once the Cowboys offense gets rolling.

9. Brock Purdy - San Francisco 49ers

Purdy was not perfect on Monday against the Jets but he did enough to help the 49ers garner a 13-point victory. He looked out of sorts at times but the stoicism we have seen throughout his career should return soon enough.

10. Matthew Stafford - Los Angeles Rams

Stafford just keeps getting it done. His 317 passing yards and a touchdown in Week 1 displayed that Stafford still has a lot left in the tank. Look for that to continue in Week 2 against a leaky Cardinals defense.

11. Jared Goff - Detroit Lions

Goff led the Lions to a hard-fought win against the Rams in Week 1. He should continue his excellent play as the season wears on. Watch out for the boys up in the Motor City yet again.

12. Baker Mayfield - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Mayfield started 2024 with a statement. He threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns in a rout of the Washington Commanders. Mayfield is in a position to repeat or even exceed his excellent 2023 numbers. The Buccaneers could be the team to beat in the NFC South.

13. Kyler Murray - Arizona Cardinals

Murray had a solid outing in Week 1. While he did not put up gaudy statistics, he had his team in a potential position to win against a solid Bills squad. Murray is going to have to be excellent all year if the Cardinals want to do anything on offense.

14. Kirk Cousins - Atlanta Falcons

Well, that was certainly not the debut that many were anticipating for Cousins. The Steelers defensive front could not be contained and harassed Cousins all day on Sunday. Cousins should bounce back, but this was not an auspicious start to his Falcons career.

15. Justin Herbert - Los Angeles Chargers

Herbert did not have his best day on Sunday, but he was able to make a couple of solid plays in the Chargers' win. As this offense continues to develop, Herbert should get more comfortable. Do not be surprised if Herbert climbs this list as the season progresses.

16. Trevor Lawrence - Jacksonville Jaguars

Lawrence started Week 1 hot but faltered down the stretch. The Jaguars were shut out by Miami in the second half after holding a 17-7 lead in the first half. Lawrence has yet to crack the truly elite status that his contract suggests.

17. Aaron Rodgers - New York Jets

Rodgers looked rusty on Monday against the 49ers. However, his arm talent was still evident. Maybe once the Jets move on to opponents who are not the defending NFC champions, then Rodgers will start to look a little better.

18. Geno Smith - Seattle Seahawks

Smith was far from perfect on Sunday. He threw an interception on his second pass of the day. However, he ended Week 1 with a 72% completion percentage and helped lead the Seahawks to victory. Smith is currently sitting at 10th in the NFL in QBR through one week.

19. Jayden Daniels - Washington Commanders

Daniels needs to settle down in the pocket a little bit but he was the best rookie quarterback in the NFL in Week 1. Daniels' ability to run is impressive. As the season wears on, he should start to click with his wide receivers.

20. Anthony Richardson - Indianapolis Colts

Richardson was an absolute animal in Week 1. The accuracy issues were apparent as he only completed 47% of his passes. However, his completions were very impressive and his rushing ability at the goal line was reminiscent of Cam Newton. If he can improve as a passer, then he will steadily climb this list.

21. Derek Carr - New Orleans Saints

Well, that was certainly unexpected. Carr and the Saints clicked on Sunday, albeit against a porous Carolina Panthers defense. This may not be the norm moving forward but Carr deserves to climb from his preseason power ranking of No. 27.

22. Sam Darnold - Minnesota Vikings

So, is Sam Darnold good now? It is hard to say but he sure looked pretty solid against the Giants on Sunday. Perhaps with real weapons and a solid coach, Darnold could be in for a nice season.

23. Justin Fields - Pittsburgh Steelers

Fields was solid in his debut with the Steelers on Sunday. After being thrown into the fire due to an injury to Russell Wilson, Fields did what was necessary for the Steelers to win. Fields may have another chance to hold down the fort in Week 2 and fully stake a claim on the starting role.

24. Jacoby Brissett - New England Patriots

Brissett may not have thrown for a lot of yards, but his QBR in Week 1 of 82.2 was excellent. Brissett did what was necessary to allow the Patriots to take down the Bengals. As long as he is in the starting lineup, the Patriots will be able to compete even if they do not win a lot of games.

25. Caleb Williams - Chicago Bears

Williams looked like a rookie in Week 1. He was frantic and could not stay in the pocket. Better days are ahead and the Bears did still manage to win the game. However, hold your horses on anointing Williams as the quarterback king.

26. Will Levis - Tennessee Titans

Levis started hot and finished ice cold in Week 1. The Titans completely fell apart in the second half against the Chicago Bears, who had no business winning that game. Levis will need to be better moving forward. That could be tough in Week 2 against the New York Jets.

27. Gardner Minshew II - Las Vegas Raiders

Minshew put up a solid stat line of 257 yards and one touchdown along with one interception in Week 1. Even so, he looked unsettled all game.

28. Deshaun Watson - Cleveland Browns

Can we just admit that Watson is never going to be the same again? I am not sure how he lost all that talent he displayed in Houston, but this version of Watson is far from good. The only thing keeping him from No. 32 on this list is the next few players.

29. Daniel Jones - New York Giants

Jones and the Giants looked completely overmatched in Week 1. It remains to be seen whether Jones can find a spark with rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers. For now, it may be more of the same.

30. Bo Nix - Denver Broncos

Nix looked like a complete rookie in Week 1. The Seahawks took away the short game and forced Nix out of his comfort zone. That resulted in multiple interceptions. It may not get any better in Week 2 against a relentless Steelers pass rush.

31. Bryce Young - Carolina Panthers

Young's performance in Week 1 was concerning. He did not show that he had taken any sort of step forward. He happened to play a solid Saints defense but Young will need to do a lot to prove himself this season.

32. Malik Willis - Green Bay Packers

Willis is stepping in for an injured Jordan Love. He has only been with the team for a couple of weeks and finds himself thrown into the fire on a high-end playoff contender. He has not displayed excellence as a starter in the past. Cheeseheads, hold your breath.
