NASCAR Truck Series DFS: DraftKings Lineup Picks for Milwaukee LiUNA! 175 (8/25/24)

Justin's DraftKings DFS lineup picks for the NASCAR Truck Series Craftsman LiUNA! 175 at the Milwaukee Mile. Read his daily fantasy NASCAR advice and Truck sleepers.

While the Cup Series and Xfinity Series spent the weekend in Daytona, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is in Milwaukee for the LiUNA! 175.  This is the first race of the playoffs for the Truck Series. There are 10 drivers remaining in the race for the title.

In order of where they sit in the initial playoff standings, those drivers are Corey Heim, Christian Eckes, Ty Majeski, Nick Sanchez, Rajah Caruth, Grant Enfinger, Tyler Ankrum, Taylor Gray, Ben Rhodes and Daniel Dye. Matt Crafton missed the playoffs and will finish outside the top 10 in points for the first time since 2006.

Here at RotoBaller, we want to help you make informed decisions about your DFS lineups, which is why I'll be breaking down the slates for the Craftsman Truck Series. Let's look at some NASCAR Truck Series DFS lineup picks for the LiUNA! 175 on DraftKings. Be sure also to check out our NASCAR Premium Tools for Truck Series, including our DFS Lineup Optimizer and powerful Research Station. This slate locks on 8/25/2024 at 4:16 p.m. EST.

Top Drivers

Corey Heim - $10.3K
Starts Fourth

Christian Eckes and Corey Heim are the clear championship favorites at this point, with the two drivers combining to win half the Truck Series races that have been run in 2024. Five of those wins belong to Heim.

In last year's race here, Heim led for 35 laps before eventually finishing in fourth place. I'd expect him to be right there in the thick of the battle for the victory on Sunday.

Christian Eckes - $10.5K
Starts Third

Last year, Christian Eckes finished third in this race, leading five laps in the process. He should be in contention once again on Sunday. I view Heim as more of a favorite in this race, but you can never count Eckes out. His average finish this season is 5.9.

Ty Majeski - $10.7K
Starts First

Don't count polesitter Ty Majeski out of this one. He's not having quite the year that Eckes and Heim are having, but Majeski is still third in points entering the playoffs with two wins on the season and has seven top fives. Consistency has been an issue, but when he's fast, he's fast.

Majeski also has extensive experience here, albeit in lower series. He has victories at Milwaukee in the ARCA Midwest Tour and the ASA STARs National Tour. Last year, he finished seventh in the Truck Series race.

Sammy Smith - $9.8K
Starts 19th

If you're looking to spend your salary on place differential instead, consider Sammy Smith, who starts 19th in the Spire No. 7 truck. This is his fourth start of the year in the Truck Series. Smith has yet to start in the top 10, but he's finished there in all three starts.

Mid-Tier NASCAR Trucks DFS Lineup Options

Ben Rhodes - $9.3K
Starts 18th

There are some solid place differential options in the middle of the pricing list this weekend. Ben Rhodes starts back in 18th. He struggled here last year, finishing just 16th, but he's running well right now, posting top 10s in five of the past eight races. After a rocky start to the season, Rhodes is going in the right direction.

Chase Purdy - $8.0K
Starts 21st

Last year, Chase Purdy ran a really good race here, starting seventh and finishing sixth. He won't start Sunday's race in nearly as good of a spot, but if he can run a clean race, he can get this truck at least into the top 15.

Rajah Caruth  - $9.0K
Starts Eighth

Rajah Caruth seems like a decent value here if you think he can run about where he's starting. He's finished in the top 10 in three of the past four races and has more Milwaukee experience than most of this field, running two ARCA and one Truck race here.

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Sleeper Picks

Dean Thompson - $7.3K
Starts 22nd

Dean Thompson crashed seemingly every week in 2023. This year, he has just four DNFs. He crashed out at Richmond but had consecutive top 10s in the two races before that one. That includes Pocono, where he also started 22nd and went on to finish ninth.

Kaden Honeycutt - $7.2K
Starts Seventh

There's definitely some risk here considering Kaden Honeycutt starts seventh, his best starting point of the season. It's easily within the range of possibilities for Honeycutt to lose place differential points. Still, he averages 35.2 DK points per race and has finished outside the top 15 just once this season.

Jack Wood - $6.0K
Starts 25th

It's been a mediocre campaign for Jack Wood, who has run nine of the 16 races in 2024 and has yet to record a top 10. However, Wood has delivered a top 20 in three of his past four starts, including a 12th at North Wilkesboro. There are around 10 points of place differential available if Wood runs a clean race.

Lawless Alan - $5.4K
Starts 30th

I've been impressed by Lawless Alan. The Reaume Brothers truck he's in is not very good, but Alan has managed an average finish of 24.3 this year. It doesn't sound like a lot, but it's just two spots back of his 2023 average finish when he raced for a much better Niece Motorsports team.

Alan starts 30th, his second-worst starting spot of 2024. That should give him slightly more place differential than usual. If you're building a lineup that's heavy on the top-priced drivers, like one with both Eckes and Heim, then you might want to give Alan a look to save some salary space.
