BALLER MOVE: Monitor in Deeper Leagues
CALL-UP ETA: 2024
ANALYSIS: Cleveland Guardians' No. 22 prospect Jose Tena continues to show his potential in the minors. Tena signed with the Guardians back in 2017 for $400,000 out of the Dominican Republic. He then hit over .300 at the plate in back-to-back seasons at rookie ball in 2018 and 2019 before breaking out at High-A in 2021 with 16 home runs and 58 RBI.
Tena was then promoted to Double-A and Triple-A in 2022, where he has played 288 combined games across those levels over the past three years. This season, the shortstop is hitting a solid .280 at the plate with eight HRs, 12 doubles, and 37 RBI at Triple-A Columbus.
112.1 mph! 🤯#Guardians 23yr old INF prospect Jose Tena continues his torrid stretch in the month of May today hitting a 3-run HR in the 5th inning for Columbus at Omaha. The HR is his 7th of the season and traveled 377 feet with a 112.1 exit velocity.#ForTheLand pic.twitter.com/YNd0fJqDJn

That minor league success, though, hasn't earned Tena much playing time in the big leagues. The 23-year-old made his MLB debut last August and appeared in 18 games for the Guardians. However, he hit just .226 with two doubles and three RBI. With a lack of power and speed, Cleveland's No. 22 prospect is not necessarily worth stashing in any format. But fantasy managers in dynasty leagues should monitor him closely because he has the potential to eventually be a solid hitter in the majors.

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ team leagues CALL-UP ETA: July ANALYSIS: Unlike many players currently in the minor leagues, Chandler Simpson has proven he can be a valuable fantasy player at the MLB level. In his time in the majors, he hit .285 with 19 stolen bases in 35 games. Unfortunately, being a valuable fantasy player […]

Brady House - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team leagues CALL-UP ETA: June ANALYSIS: The Nationals went viral on social media this week for making a fun call-up. They called up their bat dog from Triple-A. While this was very cute and should improve the vibes a little bit in Washington, I don't think Bruce the Bat Dog will help […]

Samuel Basallo - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team leagues CALL-UP ETA: June ANALYSIS: Samuel Basallo might be the best hitter in the minors right now, and he has catcher eligibility. What more do you need to know (I know catcher is super deep this year, but still)? Basallo has been an age-to-level monster for the majority of his pro […]

Andrew Painter - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team leagues CALL-UP ETA: June ANALYSIS: Painter's last two starts don't give a ton of confidence that he is ready to be in the majors. It may not even be before the All-Star break before we see him, but that does not mean we are in stash territory. The good news is, […]

Colby Thomas - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ team leagues CALL-UP ETA: July ANALYSIS: The A's continue to lose, and Colby Thomas continues to hit homers in Triple-A. The A's just got swept by the Angels, bringing their record to 26-44. While plays like Denzel Clarke's HR robbery can generate a spark for a team, the A's might need […]
