Oakland Athletics right-hander Ross Stripling (finger) was originally scheduled to make his Cactus League debut with his new team on Monday against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but he is being pushed back a few days with what manager Mark Kotsay described as a minor cut on his right index finger. Instead, Mitch Spence, a Rule 5 draft pick, replaced Stripling on the mound. The injury to Stripling's finger doesn't sound serious at all. The 34-year-old is locked into Oakland's starting rotation in 2024 after being acquired in a trade with the San Francisco Giants. He'll be moving to another pitcher-friendly environment, but that's about where the positives end. Stripling doesn't miss many bats and won't get much run support from the A's offense. He's outside of RotoBaller's top-100 fantasy starting pitchers.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
