Many NFL coaches love a one-two punch in their backfield. David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs both found success playing their roles this season. A similar case down in Miami, as Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane found the end zone with ease (when both were healthy).

Injuries always derail a coach's game plan. AJ Dillon and Aaron Jones played four games in which both of Green Bay's backfield options played close to their regular allotment of snaps. Jones missed or was limited for a huge chunk of the season. Now that Jones is healthy, Dillon is missing time.

Head coach Matt LaFleur would surely enjoy having his backfield healthy heading into a playoff matchup against the 49ers. But that may not be the case.

Is AJ Dillon Injured or Healthy?

AJ Dillon hasn't seen the practice field since suffering a neck stinger in Week 17. The bruiser was officially a DNP on Wednesday's practice report.

The Quadfather is also dealing with a broken thumb. He's been playing through that injury, although he admitted shortly after the break that it's more difficult to carry the football.

AJ Dillon Fantasy Football Outlook

Even if Dillon were to return this weekend, it's the Aaron Jones show in the Green Bay backfield. Jones is amid four straight 100-yard rushing performances with Dillon limited or on the sideline. That includes 118 yards and three touchdowns in the Packers' upset win over the Cowboys on Wild Card weekend. If the Packers wish to replicate their success against San Francisco, they're going to need number 33 to reach triple digits once again.

Dillon's campaign, meanwhile, never got out of the mud. The 25-year-old looked considerably slower, averaging a career-low 3.4 yards per carry with only two rushing touchdowns. Emanuel Wilson and Patrick Taylor, the options behind Dillon, haven't proved to be any better. Whoever the backup is on Saturday night will be nothing more than Jones' understudy.
