Marvin Mims Jr. is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for wide receivers. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 17 of the 2023 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 8% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. is an upside add in 14-team fantasy leagues heading into the team's Week 17 contest with the Los Angeles Chargers. The Broncos just saw their top wide receiver, Courtland Sutton, exit Sunday night's loss to the New England Patriots with a concussion, something that stands a good chance of keeping Sutton on the sideline.
While fourth-year receiver Jerry Jeudy is the safer choice to add off the waiver wire if you really need a receiver and want to target this juicy matchup for Denver, Mims is the higher upside option. Jeudy is having a largely disappointing year, averaging just 44.6 receiving yards per game, a new career low. Mims, meanwhile, has been all over the place when it comes to playing time but had a strong Christmas Eve showing, catching three of his four targets for 63 yards.
Still, that was the first time since Week 4 that Mims has had over 25 receiving yards. After a strong start to the season, the rookie out of Oklahoma saw his numbers really fade. In the 10 games prior to Week 16, Mims had nine total receptions for 56 yards, an average of just 5.6 yards per game. We could definitely see another bust week here for Mims, though if the Broncos give him snaps, he could make a couple of explosive plays. A lot of risk here, but there's a decent chance of a strong reward for fantasy managers.
