Evan Engram' fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 12 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit Evan Engram for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: TE1
ANALYSIS: Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram had high expectations this year after having an impressive 2022 season. The veteran tight end has played well, totaling 59 receptions on 71 targets for 475 receiving yards. However, he hasn’t found the end zone this year after scoring four times in 2022. Furthermore, Engram has the most targets this season among players without a receiving touchdown.
More importantly, the former Ole Miss star is the TE13 for the year, averaging 7.5 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Unfortunately, his production has declined lately. He has scored fewer than 7.7 fantasy points in four of the past five games, including two straight since the bye week.
However, Engram’s luck should turn around on Sunday against the Houston Texans. The AFC South division rivals have surrendered 12 fantasy points per game to tight ends, the second-most in the NFL. They have given up at least 9.2 fantasy points to tight ends in all but one game since Week 1, including six straight.
Engram had seven receptions on eight targets for 67 receiving yards and 10.2 fantasy points in the matchup against the Texans earlier this season. He should have a similar performance on Sunday.
