While his Hendrick teammates are all likely to deliver strong performances in the Bristol night race Saturday night, Alex Bowman is unlikely to do the same. Unlike Chase Elliott, who has picked up speed this year in recent weeks after his injury, Bowman has been unable to duplicate that. Bowman ranked second in speed with a speed percentile of 82.10% before his injury but ranks a mere 18th at 57.52%. He has posted a below-average speed in four of the last seven races. Also, Bristol is not one of his best tracks. He has never finished better than fifth or led a lap there and is only starting 13th.
