ANALYSIS: After the departure of veteran tight end Dalton Schultz, Jake Ferguson slots in as Dak Prescott's primary receiving tight end in 2023. Ferguson had a limited role as a rookie, posting 19 receptions for 174 yards and two touchdowns.
However, he's immediately on the fantasy football radar for the Sunday Night Football matchup with the New York Giants, who allowed the 12th-most fantasy points to tight ends last season (Yahoo).
In the Cowboys' second game against the Giants last year, Schultz caught four passes for 31 yards and two touchdowns, while Ferguson hauled in three receptions for 57 yards. There's a chance Dallas sees covering tight end as a weakness for New York, meaning Ferguson could burst onto the fantasy scene in his first week as the full-time starter.
There are likely better streaming options in 12-team leagues, but for deep setups, he checks a lot of the boxes to look for in a streamer at the position.
