Green Bay Packers - NFL Betting Analysis

The Packers are entering the new season after a previous campaign that saw them end with an overall record of 8-9. Within the NFC-North, Green Bay finished 3rd with a record of 3-3 record when facing divisional opponents. At home the Packers concluded with a 5-4 record, and they went 3-5 on the road.

Last season, Jordan Love completed 66.7% of his passes for a total of 195 yards. For the season, he finished 59th among QB's in passing yards and 25th in touchdowns (1). Love's passer rating for the season was 112.2 (2nd). On offense, the Packers are coming off a season in which they were 16th in yards per game and averaged 21.8 points per game (14th). In the passing attack, Green Bay was 17th in passing attempts and 17th in passing yards. On the ground, the Packers averaged 124.3 yards per contest (15th).

When looking at how the Packers' defense performed on 3rd down last season, they were 8th in the NFL with opponents converting 37.6% of their 3rd down attempts. Green Bay finished the season 5th in turnovers and allowed an average of 21.8, putting them 15th in the NFL.

Against the spread, the Packers are coming off a season in which they went 8-9 on an average scoring margin of -0.1 point per game. The team's over/under record was 8-9 with 10 of their games surpassing this week's line of 43 points.

Chicago Bears - NFL Betting Analysis

The Bears are gearing up for the season, looking to improve on their last place finish in the NFC-North which put them 16th in the NFC. Chicago's cumulative record stood at 3-14, which included going 1-7 on the road and 2-7 when playing on their own turf. When facing divisional opponents, the Bears achieved a 0-6 record.

Fields' passer rating for the season was 85.2 (38th). On offense, the Bears are coming off a season in which they were 27th in yards per game and averaged 19.2 points per game (23rd). In the passing attack, Chicago was 30th in passing attempts and 32nd in passing yards. On the ground, the Bears averaged 177.4 yards per contest (1st).

Last season, the Bears' defense was 6th in turnovers, having forced 23 takeaways. At season's end, they had a turnover differential of -2 which put them 12th in the league. Overall, they allowed an average of 27.2 points per game (30th) and 375.9 yards.

Against the spread, the Bears put together a record of 5-11-1 on an average scoring margin of -8.1 points per game. As the favorite, the Bears were 0-1-1 vs. the spread while going 5-10 (ATS) as the underdog. Chicago's over/under record came in at 10-7.

Today's NFL Betting Pick - Packers vs. Bears

Last season, the Packers and Bears met up two times, with the Packers going 2-0. Against the spread, the Packers went 2-0 while the over/under record in these games was 1-1 on an average of 42 points per game. The Packers' offense finished their head-to-head matchups with 385.5 yards per game of offense. As for the Bears, they averaged 318.5 yards offensively.
