Carlos Estevez Stumbles Against Mariners, Takes Blown Save
10 months agoLos Angeles Angels closer Carlos Estevez got blown up on Thursday, allowing four earned runs on two hits and two walks in a 5-3 loss to the Seattle Mariners. Estevez ended up taking both the blown save and the loss in this one, as he came into the game with a 3-1 lead. The righty has now allowed nine runs in his last three appearances, although the five before tonight's game were all unearned. It is a tough time for the breakout reliever to start struggling, as the Angels are in the thick of a tough wild card race in the AL. If the Angels were to make a switch, Reynaldo Lopez may be the next man up, although it is likely Estevez will get a few more chances before that happens.
