Juan Soto
San Diego Padres outfielder Juan Soto (back) is expected to return to the lineup on Tuesday against the Miami Marlins. The 24-year-old was originally in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees but was a late scratch after his back tightened up on him in the batting cage during warmups.
He lobbied to stay in the lineup, according to beat writer AJ Cassavell, but he was taken out as a precaution. The Padres have Monday off, so the extra day of rest should do Soto some good before the team kicks off their series with the Marlins.
Anthony Rizzo
New York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo (wrist) is fine, according to manager Aaron Boone, and should be good to go for Monday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Rizzo left Sunday's game against the Padres early during an awkward play on a pickoff attempt of Fernando Tatis Jr.
Rizzo left the game as a precaution and did fine while going through postgame testing. It sounds like a serious injury was avoided but fantasy managers should keep an eye on the Yankees lineup ahead of Monday's contest against the Mariners, just in case.
Max Muncy
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy (hamstring) exited Sunday's contest against the Rays early with a hamstring cramp. Muncy started pulling up and limping while running the bases in the third inning of Sunday's game and exited the contest shortly thereafter.
It's nice to hear it's just a cramp and not a strain or a pull but hamstrings can be tricky. The Dodgers should provide another update following the game.
Giancarlo Stanton
New York Yankees outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) could begin his minor-league rehab assignment on Tuesday. He isn't being ruled out yet for the series next weekend on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to manager Aaron Boone.
Stanton has been out since mid-April with a hamstring strain, but he took on-field batting practice on Friday and is nearing his return. Barring a setback on his rehab assignment early next week, fantasy managers should have the 33-year-old slugger back by next weekend. Before his injury in April, Stanton had gone 14-for-52 (.269) with four home runs and 11 RBI in only 13 games played.
Kyle Tucker
Houston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker was scratched from Sunday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Tucker was on the original lineup card, batting fifth, but the Astros removed him three hours before the first pitch.
It's not yet known why he was scratched but the team should provide some sort of update later today. Corey Julks is now starting in left field and batting seventh against the A's while Chas McCormick shifts over to right field to cover Tucker.
