Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is not happy with the team's decision to fire head coach Doc Rivers, club president Daryl Morey has confirmed. "He was very close with coach Rivers and, yeah, he was shocked," Morey said. Rivers worked three years in Philadelphia and Embiid improved his numbers in each season under him. The cooperation, of course, culminated with Embiid being voted the regular-season MVP in 2022-23. It remains to be seen how well he works under new leadership. "It's my job to help convince him that the new coach is someone that he'll have a great relationship with as well," Morey added.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
