One expected a better qualifying effort from Erik Jones. The Legacy Motor Club driver will begin 28th from Darlington on Sunday afternoon. Jones normally runs great here and he surprised the experts last year as he outlasted Joey Logano among others to win in September. He came from starting 15th, led 23 laps and found his way to victory lane. That gave up two wins on the intermediate track. Jones, historically, has seven top-ten results in ten races at Darlington.
