Ryan Blaney sped his way to the pole position for Sunday's race at the Phoenix Raceway. Blaney thought he was a little slow in Turn 4 but had enough cushion. He supplanted Denny Hamlin by a whisker. His 132.709 mph lap cemented what most saw in the practice session where Team Penske ruled the roost as Austin Cindric and Blaney set fast runs overall (131+ mph). The Penske cars overall were very fast and agile. The No. 12 Ford put himself in a nice position to contend for a win on Sunday. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
